Drug Tracking involves using real time GPS Trackers to place on vehicles or inside shipments in order to apprehend criminals. The use of GPS Trackers can be used by police officers in order to target drug rings and other criminal organizations. Drug Tracking can involve placing a small device such as the Micro Tracker underneath a vehicle using a magnetic clip or placing a Micro Tracker inside large containers. The location can then be tracked using any smart phone or computer in real time. The GPS Tracker has up to two and a half weeks of battery life on a single charge and features a rechargeable battery. Additional accessories can extend the battery life such as the magnetic case to up to 6 weeks as well as the 6 month extended battery pack. The hard wire power kit is another accessory that can be hard wired into a 12 V power supply to keep the Micro Tracker charged.
Officers and detectives can utilize drug tracking by tracking the location of criminal organizations online once the GPS Tracker is placed. The GPS Tracking software will provide information such as the exact location, street view, breadcrumb trail, and store up to six months of report history. Alerts can also be configured that will notify the user via text message and/or email of notifications such as motion detected/stopped, low battery, or if the criminals enter a certain area. Geofencing can be established which includes perimeters in multiple areas so police can arrive on the scene. Drug Tracking is just one of the many ways that GPS Trackers can be used as a sort of sting operation.
